Quilts of Valor presented at Gackle program

Four Gackle veterans were honored with Quilts of Valor during a program held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Gackle Legion Hall in Gackle, North Dakota. Wilbert Denning, Clifford Klundt, Jay Posselt and Loren Schroeder each received a quilt designed, sewn, quilted and presented by the Fargo-based Atonement Cross-Piecers Quilt of Valor Group. A Quilt of Valor is awarded to a service member or veteran who has been touched by war and conveys an unequivocal message: Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation. Klundt, Posselt and Schroeder, all Vietnam War-era veterans, also received Vietnam War Commemoration Pins. Following the ceremony, the Gackle Legion Auxiliary hosted a meal for attendees. Appreciation was expressed to the veterans and to those who attended the event. ]]>
