In a move designed to add depth, the Vikings have signed receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad. This comes a little more than a week after Beckham, 33, was released by the New York Giants, where he did not record a catch despite his highly publicized reunion with the team that drafted him. There are connections aplenty that help explain why Beckham signed with the Vikings shortly after he hit the open market. Not only does he have a relationship with head coach Kevin O Connell from when they won a Super Bowl together with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham also has developed a close relationship with star receiver Justin Jefferson. Though it s unclear if Beckham will be able to work his way onto the active roster for the Vikings, his presence is certainly notable, considering his stardom when he was at the peak of his powers.
