Churches United plans purchase of Moorhead Coca-Cola building for shelter, food pantry expansion — Jamestown Real Estate news

MOORHEAD — Churches United is planning to buy a neighboring warehouse for a major shelter and food pantry expansion. Churches United has entered a purchase agreement to buy the Coca-Cola sales center in north Moorhead, according to CEO Devlyn Brooks. The organization, which provides emergency shelter and food assistance, announced the plans during a fundraising event Thursday evening, Oct. 29. Churches United hopes to make the 60,000 square-foot warehouse, on a four-acre property, into a family shelter, food pantry and service center. A proposed renovation to add a second floor in the building could add more usable space to the property, Brooks said. Eventually, we re talking more than 100,000 square feet that we can develop for services, and we have big dreams, Brooks said. The Coca-Cola building is across the street from Micah s Mission, Churches United s current shelter and community center. That facility gives shelter to single men and women and families
